Of course, studying abroad means requiring a visa. To study in China you need to secure a Study Visa (X-Visa). Further, if you plan to study in China for more than six months you will need the X1 Visa and for programmes that last less than six months, you will require the X2 Visa (also called the F-Visa). It is also possible to arrive in China with a tourist visa, with the condition to convert it to the Study visa.
Furthermore, for non-Chinese citizens, a high school graduation or the equivalent is required. Should you not be an English native speaker, then you will also require to take a English proficiency test such as IELTS and TOEFL, for proof of command of the language.
If you are to study the course in Chinese, then you will need a certification in the Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK). This certificate will prove your Chinese language proficiency if you are not a native-speaker.
